Lucky Money (known as Lì Xì in Vietnam, Hongbao in China, and Sebaetdon in Korea) is one of the most beautiful and long-standing traditions celebrated during the Lunar New Year across East Asian cultures.

More than just a gift of money, Lucky Money carries deep symbolic meaning:

The lucky red envelope:
The red envelope represents good fortune, prosperity, and the warding off of bad luck from the past year.

A wish for peace and prosperity:
The amount of money inside is not what matters — it is “lucky money,” a heartfelt blessing of health, success, and wealth for the year ahead.

A bond across generations:
It is a meaningful moment for younger generations to wish longevity to their elders, and for adults to give blessings to children, strengthening family ties.

In the digital age, Lucky Money Online has emerged as a modern extension of this cherished tradition — allowing people to share good fortune with one another anytime, anywhere, with a fun and contemporary twist.

Knowledge Corner: 3 Fun Facts About Lucky Money You Might Not Know! 🧧

Why red? 🔴

In East Asian culture, red represents positive energy, fire, and the sun. Long ago, people believed the color red could scare away a monster named Nian, who was said to appear on Lunar New Year’s Eve to cause trouble.

Even or odd amounts? 🔢

Traditionally, people prefer to put even amounts of money in lucky envelopes (such as 20, 50, or 100), as even numbers symbolize completeness and good harmony.
But in our game, the amount is totally random — whatever fortune the universe gives, you receive! 😄

Don’t open it right away! 🤫

According to traditional etiquette, you shouldn’t open a lucky envelope in front of the giver.
But with this Lucky Money Online App, you have to open it immediately — otherwise, you’ll miss the super satisfying money rain effect! 💰✨
