🎮 How to Play
Step 1: Configure Your Match Before the game begins, look at the control panel (on the right or below the board). You will see an overlay on the board saying “Ready?”.

Game Mode: Choose Player vs Computer or Player vs Player.

Difficulty: Select Easy for a relaxing game, or Hard if you want the AI to think deeply (approx. 1 second per move).

Play As: Choose White (moves first) or Black.
Step 2: Start the Game Click the green “Start Game” button. The board overlay will disappear, and the settings will lock.
Step 3: Make Your Move

Select: Click on a piece to pick it up. Valid moves will be marked with small dots (or rings for captures).

Move: Click the target square to place your piece.

History: Watch the panel on the right populate with your moves in real-time.
Step 4: Reset If the game ends or you want to change difficulty, click the red “Reset Game” button to unlock the settings.
💡 Quick Tips for Beginners

Control the Center: Try to place your pawns and knights in the center squares (e4, d4, e5, d5) early in the game.

Don’t Rush: If you are playing on “Hard” mode, the computer will punish mistakes. Take your time!

Watch the History: Learning notation (like Qxd5) helps you understand chess books and tutorials later on.
